INTIMACY CHOREOGRAPHY for BULL IN A CHINA SHOP
Washington University in St. Louis, 2022
Directed by Annamaria Pileggi

It was imperative in this production to create a sense of comfortable intimacy built over a years-long relationship between the characters of Woolley and Marks. In addition to choreographing two more passionate extended scenes, I spent significant time adding casual touches and looks to develop a realistic partnership between these young actors. Additionally, there is a scene that ends with the beginning of lovemaking, followed by a "morning after" scene. Since there were significant period costumes to change for this shift, I choreographed the removal of clothes, creating a "mini-scene" during the transition.
